Letter #56 - Another Week Down

January 8, 2017

Dear Friends and Family,

We finally got our heater fixed on Friday, just as Texas started warming up, but we’re glad to have the house warm consistently again. We had zone Conference this week and my companion and I went on exchanges with our sister training leaders. I got to go to Temple, TX with my old companion, Sister Day and that was fun. I forgot to get a picture though. We spent the day knocking doors and making phone calls to clean out the records for the area. It was just like old times. I forgot to get a picture with her though. It was a bit of an odd week with the schedule thrown off because P-Day had been on a Tuesday. We had apartment inspections as well and the senior couple who inspects our apartment took us out to lunch because we never get to spend time with them and the other missionaries because we live so far away from everyone. On fast Sunday one of our investigators bore her testimony. It was so awesome and we have been so proud of the growth and changes we have seen her making in her life. Her future looks bright indeed. This week will also be a little off schedule wise, but it should still be good. Hope all is well with all of you!

Love,
Sister Prue

Letter #55 - Happy New Year!

January 2, 2017

Dear Friends and Family

It was an eventful week this week. Our heater broke Wednesday night just before this area had an unusual cold snap. We even got snow! We eventually got a bunch of space heaters, but we now know what cold carpet and cold beds feel like (not good). Our apartment is actually a duplex and an unusually large living arrangement for missionaries, so it takes awhile to Bro g up the heat once we leave the place. The night we discovered our heat was broken was an eventful one and involved us getting up a few times for different reasons, one of which was because our carbon monoxide detector went off (a hilarious story for another day). Turns out it was a false alarm. Still not sure why it went off.

We had a cool experience In which we tracted into a member whose records are not in the branch and he hasn’t been active in awhile. He said he and his daughter have been looking for a church to go to and that he would take our visit as a sign that he should try out the branch. We told him where the building was and when it started. He didn’t come, but we are hoping he will in a future week :) Our New Year’s eve and New Years Day were pretty typical days; we didn’t do anything to celebrate.

Hope everyone is safe and warm!

Love,
Sister Prue
